Grandson Birthday Card

I made a Birthday Card for my step-Grandson.  Hope he likes it?  I saw a barrell made with the Hardwood Stamp, thought I'd try and create one.  Couldn't find it again to CASE!

I used Soft Suede CS for the base and Baja Breeze run through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  The Hardwood Stamp Set on Crumb Cake for the barrel.  The flowers were punched with the Petite Petals Punch and I stamped some of the flowers using the matching Petite Petals Stamp Set.  I also punched some using Watercolor Wonder DSP along with some other scraps of floral DSP I found in my drawer. A little sponging and some Candy Dots for the centers.  I used the Envelope Liner Framelit to cut some of the Watercolor Wonder DSP for the inside flap of the envelope.

Boss' Thank You Card

My Boss at my "regular job" gave me a gift certificate.  This is my Thank You Card for his kindness.

I used the bicycle paper from Birthday Basics DSP package.  The You Made My Day and Thank You are from the Best of Greetings Stamp Set.  I used Framelits - Labels Collections and Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I added some of the Burlap Ribbon, love that stuff!  The front is Cherry Cobbler CS and the Co'ordinations Cherry Cobbler Paper for the inside behind the computer generated sentiment.  I cut one of the bicycles out and put on the front of the envelope and used the Envelope Liner Framelits with the same paper for the inside of the envelope.  Also used the Word Bubbles Framelits and Oval/Scalloped Oval Punches for the front.  I think he'll like it!

Daughter's Birthday Card

Happy Friday the 13th!  My favorite day to have 9/13 fall on.  My wonderful daughter Paula was born on a Friday, September 13th ...my lucky day!

Here's the card I created for her (my little Pittsburgh Steeler Fan)!

I used the new Thinlits - Label Card to create this card.  The paper is Basic Black CS for the base and Modern Medley DSP for the stripes and dots.  Since that paper was black/white I colored the white with Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker so it'd be her team colors!  The balloons were cut with the small Oval Punch and the Owl Punch (feet) and White Signo Gel Pen.  (Patty Bennett taught us how to do this on her site...so cute!)  I used Cycle Celebration for the Celebrate A Sweet Birthday on the front.  The finally a day that really is all about YOU! is from the Really Good Greetings Stamp Set and I stamped the you! with Versa Mark and used White Embossing Powder, cut it out and layered it with deminsionals. I added some bling under it with the Clear Rhinestones. Needless to say, she loved the card!  Oh yeah, and all the Steeler stuff from the Sports Store in the Merced Mall!  Those people love to see me comin'!  I ran the Daffodil Delight CS through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  The little helmet was printed on Whisper White CS and "fussy cut"...  The message on the inside was computer generated.  Happy 45th my sweet baby girl~

Stamping T Tutorial ~ Cupcake Oven

I recently purchased a couple of tutorials from Stamping T.  One of them was to make a Cupcake Oven.  I attempted to create it today.  I know mine doesn't compare to Tanya's, but she does give great instructions and the $2. I paid for the tutorial was well worth an entire day's creating!  (And I didn't even make the cupcake to go inside yet!).....Here's the link to Stamping T's site and the Cupcake Oven she created.  Thanks so much for the great tutorial Tanya and for the quick delivery on my order...

I had to use Bashful Blue CS instead of Baja Breeze because I didn't have any 12x12 Baja Breeze.  Isn't it cute.  I know hers' is MUCH better but I was really happy with my first try at creating this.

As you can see in the pic' I got to use the new Build-a-brads for the burners, bottle cap for the frying pan.  Also used was Crumb Cake CS, Very Vanilla CS, Brushed Silver CS, Window Sheet for the oven door window.  Patio Party DSP for the Oven Mit, Patio Party DSP for the 312 in the center of the top of the stove, Clockworks and Itty Bitty Bits Stamp Sets.  Lots of punches and Framelits and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.

Easter-Spring Swap

Yeah, my swaps are done.  Our Luv2Stamp Group has swaps each season.  I participated in the Christmas swap and now the Spring-Easter Swap.  Here's my creation:

These are so much fun to do.  Once you get your idea created it takes no time at all to create the swap squares.  I used in-colors, Gumball Green and Primrose Petals for my design.  I ran the Primrose Petals CS through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and punched with the 1-1/4" Square Punch . The Gumball Green square was cut using the Scallop Square Punch.  I sponged the edges of the Primrose Petals square with Chocolate Chip Ink.  The little tulip is from the stamp set Cross My Heart.  I inked the flower with Primrose Petals stampin' writer and the stem with Gumball Green stampin' writer.   I punched it with the 3/4" x 15/16" Oval Punch, sponged the edges with Chocolate Chop ink and attached with a dimensional.  I added a little Rhinestone that was colored with a Sharpie.  Hope everyone likes my trade?

New Baby

My hubby has a new Great-Granddaughter.  Here's the little gift card I made to go with her package we sent this week.

I used Whisper White CS for the card base (3x3 card).  I ran a piece of Regal Rose CS through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder for the next layer and then added the little embelishement.  I cut a piece of Champagne Glimmer Paper  (yeah, it's still available to order) with the Scallop Oval Punch and added the little onesie from the Baby Bundle Stamp Set onto Whisper White CS and colored with Watercolor Pencils and used the Blender Pen and punched with the Small Oval Punch.  I got to go to Kohl's and pick out outfits for a brand new baby girl, what fun that was!!!  So many cute "girlie" outfits to choose from, lots with kitties on them!!!! Yeah.......she lives in Arizona so won't get to see her for a while. (Darn!)

Christmas In The Heart

Here's a frame I did using the Heart of Christmas Stamp for the sentiment and Scentsational Season for the cup with Candy Cane and Gingerbread Man.

The background paper on the left is Core'dinations Early Espresso CS ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, on the right is Core'dinations Cherry Cobbler ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder also.  The Heart of Christmas was stamped with Early Espresso and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  The little Gingerbread Man was stamped using Soft Suede and I added 3 little brads.  The cup was stamped with Midnight Muse Ink and the Candy Cane with Real Red Ink.  They were all cut out using the Holiday Collection Framelits.  The saying was cut using Apothecary Accents Framelits and I added some Early Espresso Sponging around the edge and a couple of little Brass Brads.

Christmas will be here before we know it!!!

Last November Birthday Card (I hope!)

My baby sister's birthday is November 30th.  Here's the card I created for her.  She has tons of hummingbirds at her front porch every year when we come for Easter, they're so fun to watch.  I thought I'd use the hummingbird from Elements of Style Stamp Set to create her birthday card this year...

I used the triple layer technique using Very Vanilla CS and Crumb Cake CS.  After stamping the flowers and vines in Gumball Green, I colored some of the flowers with water color wonder crayons (Brights Collection) and used the Blender Pen to spread the color.  I then stamped the hummingbird in Midnight Muse.  The Happy Birthday is from Petite Pairs Stamp Set.  I punched it out with the Medium Oval Punch and layered onto a piece of Midnight Muse CS punched with the Scallop Oval Punch.  The ribbon on the corners is Rose Red Seam Binding.  I ran the layers through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used a Crumb Cake envelope and stamped it with the vine from the Elements of Style Stamp Set in Gumball Green.

Snowman Light

These come out so cute.  I got the instructions from Inking Idaho.  Check it out if you'd like to make some!

You use the litte tea lights that are battery operated.  Add some Gumball Green for the cap, along with Cherry Cobbler CS, use the Large Oval Punch and the Itty Bitty Punch Set Circle a little of the Cherry Cobbler Sweater Trim Ribbon for his scarf.  Run the cap through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  For his face I colored some Basic Pearls with a Black Sharpie.  On the backside you punch a scallop circle and use the Itty Bitty Punch Pack Circle to cut out where the on/off switch goes.  SoooOOO cute!

Cowboy

I did another frame using the Horse Frontier Stamp Set.  The ink is Early Espresso and some green a blue from the Water Color Wonder Crayons and the Blender Pen.  The backing is Cherry Cobbler Co'ordinations Paper and Early Espresso Co'ordinations Paper ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used Labels Collection Framelits for the horse and ChampagneGlimmer Paper around the horse and horseshoe.  I cut the horse shoe with circle punches and scallop circle punch.  The saying is cut with Apothecary Accents Framelit and sponged with Early Espresso and I added two of the glimmer brads.  The frame is from Wal-Mart.  Hope you like it!

These are really fun to make and come out really pretty (the pictures really don't do them justice), in person they are very elegant.

Hugs and happy stampin'

Inspire - Emboss Resist Technique

What a great technique Patty.  I used Zoo Review Stamp Set and VersaMark with White Embossing Powder for the giraffe. The Stamp Pads I used were: Basic Black for the Imagine (from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set), Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi, Cajun Craze, Baja Breeze and Daffodil Delight.   I cut the image out with Framelits - Labels Collection and another one size larger in Crumb Cake CS and ran it through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used a piece of the Chocolate Chip Scallop Dots Ribbon and colored some Basic Pearls with a brown Sharpie, (thanks for that tip too Patty). I mounted it all onto a Crumb Cake card base.

All these supplies will be moving on to the new 2012-2013 catalog!

Fling before the Ring Favor

My Daughter will be helping host a Bridal Fling before the Ring for a good friend of her's.  I made some little party favors for her friends.

I used the Bigz L Petite Purse die and after the little purses were cut out I ran them through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I made handles with Whisper White CS punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and glued the little black handle that the die cuts over the top.  I used the Boho Blossom Punch for the little flower on the front and added a Basic Pearl Jewel in the center.  The little Mr & Mrs tag is cut from the It's a Wrap Occasions Stamp Set and attached using White Baker's Twine and a glue dot with a 3/4" circle glued to the back over the twine.  I know the gals will have a great time.  Inside I tucked a package of White Jordan Almonds made with small cellophane bags.

Best wishes Mr. & Mrs.!

Another Birthday Card

I warned you, we have a lot of November Birthday's to cover!  This one is for a Granddaughter back East.

I used Melon Mambo for the card base and the next layer is Pink Pirouette ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used the wide Black/White Striped Rbbon and stamped the Birthday circle from Happiest Birthday Wishes Stamp Set on Whisper White CS/Pink Pirouette CS/Melon Mambo CS and layered them after punching with Circle Punches and Scallop Circle Punch.  The bird from Language of Friendship Stamp Set is stamped onto Black CS with White Ink and I used clear embossing powder and punched it out with the Bird Builder Punch.  The flower is from the Every Moment Stamp Set, colored with Color Pencils and used the Blender Pen and cut it out.  The inside stamp of the 3 birds is from the Clearly for You Stamp Set.  Hope it gets there by Friday!

Happy 4th of July, 2011

Here's the card and Kleenex Box Holder I created for my Brother & Sister-in-law who host our family 4th of July each year.  I used the instructions from Splitcoast Stampers on how to create the box cover.  I used Whisper White CS for the base of both, Real Red CS ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder for the next layer.  The stamp set is Courage (isn't it totally awesome), I used Night of Navy Ink Pad and embossed the image.  The lace is made using the brand new Lace Ribbon Border Punch.  I added some Red Grosgrain Ribbon down the center, fits perfect through the holes.

God Bless our Troops, hope everyone has a SAFE and HAPPY Independence Day!

Hugs,
Julia

Masculine Birthday Card

My Boss' birthday is this week and I wanted to make him a masculine card. I think this one fits the bill!

I saw the foil done on Jackie Topa's site Addicted to Stamping.  Just glue aluminum foil to a piece of card stock and run it through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Makes it look like one of those tool boxes guys have mounted in the back of their trucks!  I added some tools from the Totally Tool Stamp Set.  The little folder was made with the Bigz Top Note Die using Pear Pizazz CS which I also ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and then sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip Ink.  The Happy Birthday is from Bring On The Cake 2 of 2 Stamp Set.  I used Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets and ran a piece of Chocolate Chip Ribbon through and also along the edges of the Crumb Cake CS that the Happy Birthday was stamped on.  That was mounted onto a piece of Chocolate Chip CS that I punched the bottom with the Scallop Border Punch.  I think he'll like it??

Happy Retirement

We have another co-worker who is vacationing out before retiring.  I made this card for our group to sign and send to him so he knows how happy we are for him (jealous)!!!! tee!hee!

I borrowed this idea from a card Becky Roberts had on her site at Inking Idaho.  That lady is so crafty!  I used Springtime Vintage DSP and glued it onto Not Quite Navy CS and then ran it through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  That layer is mounted onto a layer of Soft Suede CS and the card base is Baja Breeze stamped with the large flower from Elements of Style Stamp Set.  The Happy Retirement sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set. I used the Small Oval punch to cut it out and then layered it onto Baja Breeze CS punched with the Scallop Oval Punch, both of those sponged with Soft Suede Ink and layered onto Not Quite Navy CS punched with the Decorative Label Punch.  The ribbon is Baja Breeze Seam Binding.  Hope you can see the embossing, it really makes this card.

Perk Up!

Another card-lift from Laurie Zoellmer, I love her ideas!  Thanks for sharing Laurie.  Here's my version:

I used Take a Sip Wheel and Morning Cup Stamp Set for the perk up! and single coffee cup.  The card base is Poppy Parade CS and the backing paper is More Mustard run through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used Poppy Parade Stampin' Write Marker to add color to the flowers on the cup and the heart.  I used the Scallop Trim Border for the strip of Poppy Parade CS behind the line of cups.  I also punched a Scallop Circle out of the Poppy Parade CS and mounted the single cup and perk up! punched from 1-3/8" circle punch with diminsenionals.  I sponged around the circles and other design done with the wheel in Soft Suede Ink.  Doesn't this remind you of the old Harvest Gold and other retro colors from the 60's??  (Any of you old enough to have lived in that era!!) tee!hee!

Sending Springtime Smiles

Here's my version of a card I cased from Laurie Zoellmer.  I used Marina Mist CS for the base, added a layer of Soft Suede CS and cut two squares of Whisper White CS and ran that piece through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Sending Springtime smiles and the blossom are from Easter Blossoms Stamp Set.  I cut part of the blossoms out with the heart punch and sponged the edges with Soft Suede.  The blossoms in the heart were colored with my Marina Mist Stampin' UP! Marker and the I added some Two Way Glue and sprinkled on some Glass Stampin' Glitter in Baja Breeze.  The Blossoms and sentiment were layered onto Soft Suede CS, the sentiment backing punched with the Oval Scallop Punch and the Blossoms background just squared up behind the Whisper White and added a layer of Maria Mist CS with a strip of Crochet Trim Confetti Ribbon gathered and glued on.  I splattered with Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker put into the Spritzer Tool.

I'm totally ready for Spring ~ I'm sure you are too!
