Thank You Country Style

I created this thank you card with the thought of a "country thank-you" .... doesn't that rooster just make you want a day back on the farm?  tee!hee!

I used Elegant Eggplant CS for the back of the card and layered with Old Olive which I ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  The flowered paper is from the Springtime Vintage DSP pack.  The rooster is from the Countryside Stamp Set and the thank you came from the Hostess Because I Care Stamp Set.   I colored the rooster with my blender pens and Watercolor Wonder crayons.  I used some of the 5/8" Victorian Ribbon across the middle.  I punched the rooster out with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch and layered it onto a Scallop Circle punched from the Elegant Eggplant CS.  The thank you was stamped onto Very Vanilla CS and layered onto Old Olive CS punched with the Scallop Oval Punch.  I punched holes in the scalloped circle with my paper piercer.

Easter Treats for my Grandson to take to school

Here are all the treats we ended up making for Johhnny's Class (25 total) ~ hope it's enough?  I think he has about 23 classmates, we should be good?

And ~ for his Teacher, we made a little clear bucket with a stuffed rabbit inside and decorated it with the Pink Butterfly on top and made a little 3x3 card to match the decoration on top of the lid.

May the Blessings of Easter find all my friends and family.  May the Easter Bunny hide lots of eggs for the little ones and hope everyone has a Blessed Day.

Big hugs from me....

Easter Cone Upgrade~

Thanks for the suggestion to add DSP Judy, I also added a little ribbon and a Happy Easter sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.  The DSP is from the Patterns Pack In Color.  I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and put the paper in half way and it fit perfectly to keep a little border on the edge.  The sentiment is punch with the Small Oval Punch and sponged with Old Olive Ink.  Sure brightens the whole thing up.  Oh yeah, I added a little grass, just so the treats would look a little more "hidden"...tee hee!!!

Happy Stamping ~ hope you all are enjoying the Easter Season and making lots of cute cards and sweet treats!  Big hugs, Julia

Work-in-progress Easter Treat

I used the new Petal Cone Die to make this little container (looks like a carrot, don't ya think?), I'm still going to add to it.  I'm thinking maybe a bit of embossing and maybe a ribbon or little embellishment??

I put some treats inside and will be adding some grass to make it look more like Easter.  These are so easy, and so much fun.  Let me know if you have other ideas that I can use to make this little treat "pop"!

Thanks ~ hugs to all, Julia

Elegant Notes and Cone

I love the new die cut called Petal Cone.  Here's an idea I borrowed from Inking Idaho.  Thanks Becky!

I used Marina Mist for the back Cone and the flaps of the 3x3 cards.  The Newsprint DSP was used for the fronts.  I used some Old Olive CS and punched a strip with the Scallop Edge Border Punch for the inside of the top on the front.  I used a stamp from the Elements of Style Stamp Set and colored those with my Blender Pen and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  The ribbon is Blue Satin and the little labels are the new Four Frames Set and the Happy Easter from the Teeny Tiny Words Stamp Set.

Butterfly Easel Card

How cute is this?  These are so much fun to make.  I used Baja Breeze CS and ran it through the Elegant  Lines Embossing Folder.  The Very Vanilla CS Butterfly I stamped with the Elements of Style Stamp Set and colored with the Blender Pen and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  I added 3 little pearls to the front.  Caro gives complete directions on her site (in two languages) of how to make the easel card and a 3x3 envelope and box to store the cards in.  Thanks for sharing Caro, your directions are awesome!  Also, thanks to Cindee Wilkinson at Just Sponge It for posting Caro's link.

Cordlan's Birthday Card

Here's the card I created for my Grandson.  I used the same idea from Stamping School that I did previously, just different front.

The front of the card is Botanical  Gazette DSP (from the Occasions Mini Catalog that's only good until April 30).  I used the For You Flower and Fancy Flower Extra-Large Punch and 2-1/2" Circle Punch.  For the sentiment inside I used the Sale-A-Bration Set So Happy for You (sorry it's no longer available unless they happen to put it in the 2011/12 catalog.  The Z-Fold Base is Baja Breeze CS (sure glad they brought that color back).  I added a little bow made from Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon.  Cordlan sent a text message that he loved the card!  Yeah!!!

Embossed Ribbon

Found this cute embossed ribbon technique on Jackie Topa's site ... I didn't have my Fun Flowers Die yet so I used the Daisies #2 Die instead.

I embossed the ribbon with the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.  The edge of the CS was punched with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch.  The Whisper White top of the card I embossed using the Finial Press Embossing Folder and the bottom Pear Pizzazz CS was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  The ribbon I used was Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon.  The center of the flower is one of the Designer Fabric Sweet Stitches Brads.  The tag is from the new Summer Mini set called Four Frames stamped in Regal Rose with for you stamped in the center and that is part of a stamp (used my Pear Pizzazz Marker to ink up just those words) that says Just for you ~ it's in the hostess set called Afterthoughts.  The leaves were stamped on Pear Pizzazz CS with the same color ink and punched with the Build a Blossom Punch.

Easter Blossoms Girl

Here's a card I saw on Lianne Carper's site Card Scraps, this is my version.  Hope you like it?

Won't be long and the Easter Bunny will be hoppin' down the bunny trail!  I used Springtime Vintage DSP, Soft Suede Ink, Jewelry Tag Medium Punch, Basic Pearls, Satin Ribbon, Antique Brad.  Also the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Baja Breeze CS, Old Olive CS and Very Vanilla CS.

Happy Stampin' ~ Julia

Post-it Note Holder

Last week on Stamping School Linda had the cutest Top Note Box.  Here's my version...

I love the blue's and browns together so this one really struck my eye!  I used Elegant Soiree DSP for the top of the box.  The bottom part is Baja Breeze CS (can't see it in the picture).  You cut two top notes from the thick packaging paper that comes in the 12x12 packs of DSP and the glue your DSP and CS to those so they're thicker and more sturdy for the tops of the box.  The Stamp Sets are Nature Walk and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  You use the Small Oval Punch for the sentiment and sponged with Soft Suede Classic Ink, 2-1/2" Circle Punch and 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Extra-Large Punch.  Under that is the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlets(R) Die punched in Soft Suede CS.  Behind the swirls is a layer of the Elegant Soiree DSP, then Crumb Cake CS, layered onto the Top Note that you created with the same DSP (striped sheet).   The little flower is punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack Flower and I added a Basic Pearl to the center.  Inside the box is a Post-it-Note pad for taking notes.  Would be a really nice gift for a co-worker, don't you think?  (To make the box that is sandwiched between the two Top Notes I used Baja Breeze CS, one piece for the bottom cut at 4-1/8" x 4-1/8", score 1/2" on all sides.  Top of box is 4-1/4" x 4-1/4", also score 1/2" on all sides.  Cut slits on corners of 1/2" on opposite sides of each piece to enable you to fold and make into a box. (Hope that makes sense to you???) ..... anyway, have fun and let me know if you have any questions.  If you'd like to join Stamping School, click on the link above and get information.  Linda is a Stampin' UP! Demonstrator and you can join her School and get new projects every week to use at your Workshops!

4 You Mini Milk Carton

My Twin (Judy) found the cutest little milk carton on Sizzix.com.  Here's my version using Stampin' UP! supplies~

I used the Pawsitively Prints II DSP for the Milk Carton (cut with the Big shot using the Mini Milk Carton Die).  The flower is from Sweet Summer Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set ~ hope that one makes the July catalog!  The 4 YOU is stamped on Blushing Bride CS and is from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set.  I used the Scallop Border Punch and some Very Vanilla CS for the background and the scallop under the flap.  Judy actually came down (She's in Modesto and I'm in Atwater) yesterday and the little creation was a Twin effort!  My favorite kind of day!!! Thanks for the idea and the help Judy.  The flower was colored using a Blending Pen and the Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  I put a little bag of pastel Jordan Almonds as the goodie inside the carton.  The ribbon is Real Red Taffeta.  Hope you like it.......
