Happy Retirement Card

Got to use some of the new Stampin' UP! products on this one.  Love the new colors!

Used the Wildflower Meadow (stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe) and embossed with the matching Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder.  I sponged the edges with Baked Brown Sugar.  The Happy Retirement is from the stamp set Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I used Whisper White layered on to Crisp Cantaloupe CS.  The Happy Retirement was cut out with the Word Window Punch and layered onto some of the new Baked Brown Sugar CS that was punched with the Modern Label Punch.  I added a couple of the little pearls to each end of the tag.  Viola....easy card!  Hope you like it!

Happy Valentine's Day 2013

Here are some of the creations I have made up for Valentine's Day this year.

Sorry the picture isn't that great. I did Hershey Candy Bars wrapped in More Amore Specialty DSP and added ribbon and hearts.  The Love in the top one is the single stamp Love Heart.  I added some Ribbon with 3 Rhinestones on one side and layered onto Black CS cut with the Embosslits Scalloped Heart of Hearts.  The middle one I used the Embosslit and Silver Glimmer Paper, then a Red Heart punched with the Framelit Hearts and the little love is from the Ciao, Baby! Stamp Set and punched with the little punch that matches.  I used Cherry Cobbler Polka Dot Ribbon on each end.  The one on the left I used the new Pink Pirouette Two-Tone Ribbon and the Happy Valentine Stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.  I colored Rhinestones with a Red Sharpie and added to each end (Punched out with Word Window Punch) that was mounted on Bashful Blue CS with the Modern Label Punch.  The M&M's were put into one of the 1"x8" Celephone Tubes and I added a heart to the top with That's The Ticket Valentine Stamp mounted on top with one of the new Large Rhinestones up in the left-hand corner.  The Red Heart was mounted on Silver Glimmer Paper punched with the Embosslit Scalloped Heart of Hearts.  I added some Pink Pirouette Ribbon and some had Riding Hood Red (not pictured) Taffeta Ribbon.

Hubby's Father's Day Card

Here's the card I created for my hubby for tomorrow.  I think he'll like it, he's such a wonderful husband and Dad to my daughter and Grandpa to my grandson.

I got the idea from our Luv2Stamp Group Challenge this month.  The card I scoped for the idea was from Barbara Hebert at Barbara Jean Designs.  I used the pick-up stamp from Countryside Stamp Set and the outline is our new Framelits ~ Apothecarty Accents.  The Happy Father's Day is from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.  The card base is Midnight Muse and the ink that's sponged on the cutout is also Midnight Muse.  I sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip. The next layer is Crumb Cake that I ran through the Stripes Embossing Folder.  I died the Large Pearls with a Sharpie.

Hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day!

Grad Card

Here's the card I made to match the Grad Box .....

I used the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set for the Happy Graduation.  More Red Glimmer Paper for the owl's vest and Elegant Soiree DSP for his body.  The Black and Red CS was cut diagonally and the ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I used the Owl Punch and Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch and Decorative Label Punch.  I used the Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine to cover the seam down the diagonal.  I mounted it all on a card base of Whisper White.

Easter Cone Upgrade~

Thanks for the suggestion to add DSP Judy, I also added a little ribbon and a Happy Easter sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.  The DSP is from the Patterns Pack In Color.  I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch and put the paper in half way and it fit perfectly to keep a little border on the edge.  The sentiment is punch with the Small Oval Punch and sponged with Old Olive Ink.  Sure brightens the whole thing up.  Oh yeah, I added a little grass, just so the treats would look a little more "hidden"...tee hee!!!

Happy Stamping ~ hope you all are enjoying the Easter Season and making lots of cute cards and sweet treats!  Big hugs, Julia

Elegant Notes and Cone

I love the new die cut called Petal Cone.  Here's an idea I borrowed from Inking Idaho.  Thanks Becky!

I used Marina Mist for the back Cone and the flaps of the 3x3 cards.  The Newsprint DSP was used for the fronts.  I used some Old Olive CS and punched a strip with the Scallop Edge Border Punch for the inside of the top on the front.  I used a stamp from the Elements of Style Stamp Set and colored those with my Blender Pen and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.  The ribbon is Blue Satin and the little labels are the new Four Frames Set and the Happy Easter from the Teeny Tiny Words Stamp Set.

Post-it Note Holder

Last week on Stamping School Linda had the cutest Top Note Box.  Here's my version...

I love the blue's and browns together so this one really struck my eye!  I used Elegant Soiree DSP for the top of the box.  The bottom part is Baja Breeze CS (can't see it in the picture).  You cut two top notes from the thick packaging paper that comes in the 12x12 packs of DSP and the glue your DSP and CS to those so they're thicker and more sturdy for the tops of the box.  The Stamp Sets are Nature Walk and Teeny Tiny Wishes.  You use the Small Oval Punch for the sentiment and sponged with Soft Suede Classic Ink, 2-1/2" Circle Punch and 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Extra-Large Punch.  Under that is the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlets(R) Die punched in Soft Suede CS.  Behind the swirls is a layer of the Elegant Soiree DSP, then Crumb Cake CS, layered onto the Top Note that you created with the same DSP (striped sheet).   The little flower is punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack Flower and I added a Basic Pearl to the center.  Inside the box is a Post-it-Note pad for taking notes.  Would be a really nice gift for a co-worker, don't you think?  (To make the box that is sandwiched between the two Top Notes I used Baja Breeze CS, one piece for the bottom cut at 4-1/8" x 4-1/8", score 1/2" on all sides.  Top of box is 4-1/4" x 4-1/4", also score 1/2" on all sides.  Cut slits on corners of 1/2" on opposite sides of each piece to enable you to fold and make into a box. (Hope that makes sense to you???) ..... anyway, have fun and let me know if you have any questions.  If you'd like to join Stamping School, click on the link above and get information.  Linda is a Stampin' UP! Demonstrator and you can join her School and get new projects every week to use at your Workshops!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I saw this card at CardScraps this morning and lifted it right away.  Here's my version using Pear Pizazz.  She used Old Olive and Garden Green for the two that she created.  I personally think her colors are deeper and look better than the Pear Pizazz, but hey, at least I made a St. Patty's card??? LOL!!!

I used Teeny Tiny Wishes  for the sentiment and So Happy for You Stamp Set for the "lucky" clovers.  The card base is Pear Pizazz with a layer of Crumb Cake.  I used the Top Note Die and Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Also the two smaller Oval Punches and the Scallop Oval Punch.  The ribbon I used is Pear Pizazz Seam Binding.  Hope you are all LUCKY on this St. Patrick's Day.  Happy Stamping!

Another Get Well Card

My Boss' wife was in the hospital all last week, poor thing.  Anyway, I wanted to send her a get well card now that she's home.

This is another idea I card-lifted from my Twin Judy!  Thanks again Jud~ ...  I used the Building Blossoms Stamp Set on Glossy White CS with Regal Rose Ink and punched with the coordinating Blossom Punch.  I used Ice Cream Parlor DSP for the front layer of the card, followed by a layer of Pear Pizazz onto Regal Rose Card Base.  The Sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes and the embellishment is out of the Styled Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware.  I stamped the leaves on Pear Pizazz CS with Pear Pizazz Ink.  The center of the flower is one of the Designer Fabric Sweet Stitches Brads.  Sure hope she feels better soon!

Valentine Treat Box

This is a really simple little treat box that my Sis' Judy shared with me ~ she found it on Splitcoast Stampers link for Create with Cheryl.

She used the Petal Card Punch to make the ends of the box and each holds 4-6 candy kisses.  All you do for the box is cut 3" x 5" piece of CS and score at 1", 2", 3" & 4".  Fold and glue, wrap the petal cards around each end (be sure to put your kisses or other candy in before you adhere the 2nd end) and secure with glue dots or sticky strip (something that will hold tight!)... I wrapped mine with a clear bag and closed with 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon  I added the happy valentine's stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set on Whisper White CS, punched it out with the Word Window Punch and sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink.

More Birthday Cards

Well, here are a few more Birthday Cards ~ one for my Grandaughter who lives in New Hampshire, one for my Step-Daughter who lives in Oceanside and the other for my little Sister who lives in Burson.

Courney's card I used Basic Black CS and Poppy Parade CS cut with the Bigz XL Tasteful Trim Die and run through the Finial Press Embossing Folder .  The stamped flower is from Every Moment Stamp Set stamped with Whisper White Craft Ink and layered on a circle of Poppy Parade CS and then a Scallop Circle out of Very Vanilla CS and sponged with Poppy Parade Ink.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes punched with the Word Window Punch and layered onto Poppy Parade CS punched with the Modern Label Punch.  I added some  Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

The one I created for Holly I found on Stamping School.com last week.  I love how the embossing folder matches the Elegant Sorie'e DSP.  The Happy Birthday is from Perfect Punches Stamp Set, the background Baja Breeze CS was run through the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder with a strip of Crumb Cack CS across and 3 Basic Pearls and more Basic Pearls earls in the deeply embossed Baja Breeze design.  The backing layer is Crumb Cake on a Very Vanilla CS base.  The Happy Birthday is punched with the Large Oval Punch and layered onto Crumb Cake CS punched with the Extra Large Decorative Label  Punch.

The last one I made for my little Sister using Old Olive CS for the Card Base and Blushing Bride CS punched with the Corner Rounder Punch and run through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  I added a strip of the Wide Old Olive Striped Ribbon and with Blushing Bride Stitched Poly Ribbon.  The kitty is from the Every Little Bit Stamp Set layered onto Blushing Bride CS punched with Circle Punch, then a layer of Early Espresso and then the Scallop Circle from Old Olive CS and all layers were sponged with Early Espresso Ink.  The Happy Birthday is from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set punched with the Word Window Punch and layered on Blushing Bride CS punched with the Modern Label Punch and another layer with the Modern Lable Punch that goes with the Bigz Curly Label Die punched from Early Espresso CS.  I added some Basic Pearls to each side of the Happy Birthday.

Hope they all have Wonderful Birthdays and a year filled with love and family.

Gift Card Holder

I found this gift card holder at It's A Stamp Thing, isn't it cute. Check out her blog for instructions.  I used Baja Breeze CS for the base, Candy Cane Christmas Specialty DSP and Real Red Satin Ribbon and CS.  The little button was punched with the Sizzix Die Buttons #5 with Linen Thread tied in the center.  The Very Merry is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set.  The Snowflake is from the Decorative Strip Northern Frost out of Whisper White CS.  You can't see the inside but I punched a half-circle with the 1-3/4" circle punch to make it easier to retrieve the gift card.  I cut the banner free-hand and attached unter the snowflake.  The ribbon is created by using two oval punches, punch the smaller one first and then the bigger one and put all 6 together to form the ribbon.

A Sympathy Card

I don't like having to make Sympathy Cards because it means someone that means a lot to me has lost someone they loved very much.  My Step-Niece lost her Mother-in-Law last week and I wanted to let her know that we were thinking of her and her family.
I used Melon Mambo for the Card Base and the Scallop Edge at the bottom and the Scallop Circle.  The Stampe Sets I used were Upsy Daisy (love that one) and Teeny Tiny Words.  I Used Small Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch and some Basic earl Jewels.  The ribbon is Blushing Bride Poly Ribbon and the layer underneath is Blushing Bride CS.  The second layer I ran through the Finial Press Embossing Folder and sponged with Melon Mambo Ink.  I sponged around the Circle and Oval with Melon Mambo Ink also.  I stamped the background using a stamp from the Confetti set (can't see to good in the picture).

Fresh Apples ~ Happy Birthday

I love this little pick-up.  I saw a card that Dawn did on her blog  Dawn's Stamping Thoughts  and used that as my idea for making this one.  Her's is done with a little darker colors and different ribbon, but basically they're the same.  I used Countryside for the pick-up truck, stamped with Staz-On Black Ink and colored with colored pencils using the blender pen.  The card base is Soft Suede and then I ran the next layer of Crumb Cake through the Finial Press Embossing Folder.  I layered the little truck on another piece of Soft Suede, punched the corners with the Ticket Corner Punch and sponged with Soft Suede Ink.  The Happy Birthday is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set stamped in Soft Suede on Water Color Paper.  The Brads are from Glimmer Basics Set.  I used some Victorian Ribbon and the newspaper looking layer is from Newsprint DSP.  I punched the Happy Birthday with the Word Window Punch, sponged it with Soft Suede and layered onto Soft Suede Paper punched from the Modern Label Punch.

Trident Gum Pack

I found this on my Demo SU site ~ created by Cathy Daimon, Randi-Jo Kamaunu, Erin Addrade-Holmburg, Maile Souza, Kaneohe, HI ~ too cute, huh?

I used Very Vanilla CS, Old Olive CS, Chocolate Chip Ink Pad and Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad for the pine cones and Merry Christmas. The stamp sets were Teeny Tiny Wishes and Autumn Days. I used the Tab Punch for the green on the end, attached with brass brads and stamped with "Just for You". The CS for the cover is 6" x 4" and scored at 1", 1 1/4", 3 3/4" and 4", folded around the gum. I used the two way glue pen and added some sparkle (Dazzling Diamonds).

Another Birthday

Veteran's Day is my oldest Step-Daughter's Birthday, she may not get this in time since she lives in New Hampshire, but ~ it's the thought that counts, right??? I used the Kind & Caring Thoughts Stamp Set and stamped the flower in Melon Mambo, used the matching Melon Mambo Dotted Rippon and Melon Mambo CS along with Chocolate Chip, sponged the edges with Crushed Curry Classic Stamp Pad. Stamped the best wishes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set, the Word Window Punch with the Modern Label Punch along with matching punch used in the XL Curly Label Die and used the 2 Scallop Circle Die Cut for the ends/cut one circle in half and used Tea Party DSP.

Butterfly Thank You Cards

I learned this new technique (Faux Foil) on StampingSchool.com tonight. You make a little box to hold 5 1/2' x 3 1/2" note cards. The cards are made by making a stencil, I used the Big Shot Beautiful Butterflies for my pattern. Use the sponge daubers to add Platinum Shimmer Paint and your Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the Thank You from the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set. Rich Razzleberry CS for the box and Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink Pad for the "thank you". I used the silver cord and added a little bow made with the Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon. Clear sheets for the box cover. (Sorry but the shiny gives off a reflection when I'm taking the picture!)

Kleenex Box

I made one of those cute little Kleenex Boxes that Cindee Wilkinson (JustSpongeIt) shared that she got from http://stampspaperscissors.typepad.com/ site. I didn't have the little white Kleenex to put in the box, just some Mary Englebright ones I'd gotten at Michael's. Doesn't this turn out just "too cute"?
Happy Stamping,
Julia
