Birthday Card for a Dear Friend

I thought my friends Birthday was this week ~ I rushed to make her a card and double-checked my calendar and it's not until next week! Yippeee...for once I'm ahead of the game!! LOL!

You can't tell from the picture but the background paper for the card base is Melon Mambo and the piece that I ran through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder is Pumpkin Pie. For some reason those two colors really compliment one another. I used the new 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and punched out Island Oasis DSP and added the happy birthday and my friend from one of the new stamps sets called Perfect Punches. The "my friend" was punched with the Curly Label Extra Large Punch. I rounded the corners of the card with the Corner Rounder Punch and everything was sponged with Early Espresso Ink (another new product available tomorrow, July 1st).

It's so nice to have something done "ahead of time", now all I have to do is remember to mail it next week. Hope she likes it and has an awesome Birthday!!!

Shirt Dress & Brief Case (Cased)

Well, I cased another project from Jackie Topa at Addicted to Stamping, she gives so many awesome tutorials, you just have to visit her site!

I used different DSP than she did and punched my little flower from the Boho Blossom Punch, her instructions give you step-by-step instructions on creating this awesome dress and brief case.

I used Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon for the belt, a buckle from the Hodgepodge Hardware Kit for the buckle on the belt and the briefcase. I sponged Early Espresso around the edges of the dress and all the parts of the briefcase. The Congratulations is from the Well Scripted Stamp Set and best wishes is from the Short & Sweet Stamp Set.
I know this is the 3rd creation in a row that I've cased from Jackie Topia, but her creations are just to cute to resist. Thanks for sharing Jackie!

Tractor Card

I found this cute little punch art tractor on Addicted To Stamping blog, she has so much cute stuff over there, check her site out. This little tractor was made from Stampin' UP! punches. the word window for the smoke stack, the large tag punch for the front and rounded the top corner with the corner rounder punch. I used the scallop circle punch for the back tire and a heart for the seat, the little slit punch for the steering column and the steering wheel I cut myself, just like she did. The background I just tore a piece of copy paper and sponged on clouds and the ground. The puffs of smoke from the smoke stack are the three flower punch. I used brads for the insides of the wheels and sponged all the pieces with the new Early Espresso Classic Ink. The tractor body is Old Olive CS and the base for the card is Kraft (soon to be Crumb Cake) CS and I layered Basic Black and Old Olive before mounting the card onto the front. The "happy birthday" is from the Happy Moments Stamp Set. I think this card might go to my farmer nephew for his Birthday in October.

Stationery Box

I got the directions for this from Splitcoast Stampers (Jackie Topa)... it was a lot of work but I was really happy with the way it turned out. Hope you like it too.... (box, two 4-1/4x5-1/2" cards, two 3x3 cards five tags and the notebook & pen....

I used Tangerine Tango Ink, Old Olive CS, Pumpkin Pie CS and Greenhouse Gala DSP. Some of the items will not be available until July 1st, but that's a short time from now. The flower is one we made at Patty Bennett's Luv2Stamp Group Meeting. If you have any questions on any of the other supplies I used, just send me a note and I'll be glad to share (Bobnjul@pacbell.net). The box has room for the 4-1/4x5-1/2" cards, 3x3 cards, Tags and the little slot next to the book is for you postage stamps. It was a lot of fun to create and it'd be a great gift for a "friend". Happy Stampin', Julia

Another Birthday....

Here's the card I made for my Brother-in-law, his B-day is this Sunday. He's my twin's hubby and what a great guy ~ he has made Judy and I so much cool stuff to store our stamping supplies.
I used the new Perfect Punches Stamp set for the happy birthday, Sense of Time for the clock face and Kraft (or what will be Crumb Cake) CS for the base, Night of Navy ran through the Square Latice Embossing Folder. The edges were sponged with the new Early Espresso Classic Ink and the happy birthday was stamped with Marina Mist Classic Ink. I added a couple of little brads to the clock face and mounted it and the happy birthday with dimensionals.
Best wishes for a GREAT year Mike! Love ya, Julia

Father's Day

Hi All ~

Hubby loved his Father's Day card yesterday. I used some of the new in-colors, I'm lovin' the blues this time. The backing layer is Marina Mist CS layered onto Not Quite Navy (embossed with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder) and then Kraft CS soon to be Crumb Cake CS. The label was done with the Matchbox Bigz Die and the BBQ guy is from the stamp set called King of the Grill (that set also included the Happy Father's Day that I punched out with the Word Window Punch). I used my stamp pads and Aqua Painter to color the BBQ guy inside the circle. We played golf and had an early dinner with my daughter .... the day was awesome. Hope all your Father's Days were good.
Hugs,
Julia

Matchbox Easel Card

I love this idea ~ check out Inking Idaho's blog for more instructions! Isn't she totally awesome? Judy made one of these for Jeremy (my nephew) for his graduation $$$ ~ what a cute idea, huh?
I used the new Marina Mist CS for the Matchbox, added a couple of brads and the best wishes from Short & Sweet Stamp Set and the little tree and pot from Bouquet Bunch. I added some linen thread around the pot for a little depth.
Hope you like it?

Graduation ~ Congrats!

My Nephew Jeremy is graduating 8th Grade this week. His parents are having a party for him next Saturday and here's the card I made for him ~ just need to sign and add some $$$!

I used the First Day Stamp Set and the Congratulations from the Well Scripted Stamp Set and the Extreme Guitar Stamp (Jeremy plays the guitar, among other instruments ~ he's very talented). The Square Lattice Embossing Folder was used on the belly band and the inside strip which I also punched using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I checked the internet and found his school colors were Red/Black (wow ~ same as my old High School)! I used Real Red, Basic Black and Kraft (soon to be renamed Crumb Cake) CS. The inside pocket I made using the Word Window Punch and the 1/2" circle punch. I trimmed the front with a piece of Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon and the little bookworm was colored with markers Real Red and Certainly Celery.

Another Elements of Style Purse and Card

Here's another project I lifted from CardScraps. The first one I did in black/white, this one is Not Quite Navy. Go down a ways and you can see it and the information on how I made it. The only difference is I used Not Quite Navy CS and Classic Ink. Also, I used White Tafetta Ribbon and died it with my Not Quite Navy Classic Ink for the handle on the purse. I also added a little white pearl and a flower from the Pretties Kit for the closure on the purse using a little Not Quite Navy ink sponged on the flower to help it match. Hope you like it!
