One of our Supervisor's at work was retiring this week and we had a "going away ~ pot luck" for him. I made him a card too...and he loved it!
I used Marina Mist CS for the base of the card. the gold layer I made using the tutorial from last week's Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial on Faux Patina. Check it out, the tutorial and instructions are very easy to follow. The stamp set I used was Always Thankful for the can with straw coming out and I used my Stampin' Write markers to color the image before I stamped it. The congratulations is from the Up in the Air Hostess Set (just the words off the little bird stamp). I used my paper piercer and guide to punch a pattern in the lower left of the stamped image page. The Framelits Label Collection for the frames on the inside. The words for the inside were computer generated. Some Marina Mist Sponging on the inside and Early Espresso on the outside of the congrats that was stamped on Very Vanilla CS. Hope Steve has an awesome retirement, he's been a great friend and co-worker, I'll truly miss him.

Dasher Christmas Card
I'm sure getting my money's worth out of the little Dasher Stamp ($8.95 on page 208 #116816 in the Stampin' UP! 2009-2010 idea book & catalog). I made this quick and easy Christmas Card. I stamped it in Real Red Ink and mounted it on Real Red CS, punched the bottom with my Scallop Edge Punch and made holes with my paper piercer. The background layer is from the Specialy DSP Christmas Cocoa and layered it onto a Real Red CS card base. A ribbon of striped Grosgrain Real Red and it was done! Hope you like it.
