a little treat...

Don't you just love Valentine's Day?  So much cute stuff.  I learned how to make these on Angie Kennedy Juda's  Chic n' Scratch blog.  That lady is so talented and so sweet to share.  Here is her list of supplies (she even gives the product numbers if you'd like to order)!

She also has a video showing you how to create these cute boxes.  Be sure to visit her site.  The only thing I did different is I used one solid piece of DSP for the ends and she cut two.  I also added the love and tag from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set and used Riding Hood Red CS and Seam Binding.

Valentine Treat Box

This is a really simple little treat box that my Sis' Judy shared with me ~ she found it on Splitcoast Stampers link for Create with Cheryl. 

She used the Petal Card Punch to make the ends of the box and each holds 4-6 candy kisses.  All you do for the box is cut 3" x 5" piece of CS and score at 1", 2", 3" & 4".  Fold and glue, wrap the petal cards around each end (be sure to put your kisses or other candy in before you adhere the 2nd end) and secure with glue dots or sticky strip (something that will hold tight!)... I wrapped mine with a clear bag and closed with 1/4" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon  I added the happy valentine's stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set on Whisper White CS, punched it out with the Word Window Punch and sponged with Chocolate Chip Ink.

Moving on to Valentine's Day!  I found these little clear clothes pins, they have a little magnet on the back. I added a heart (I used the Embosslit Scalloped Heart of Hearts.  Punched it 2x out of Real Red CS, sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip Ink and mounted onto a heart cut from the backing sheet we get in our packages of CS ~ made it all a little thicker.)  I added the little girl with the valentine from the Greeting Card Kids Stamp Set.  I colored her with color pencils and used the blender pen.  Her face and legs I used the Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Pen.  I cut her out and mounted with deminsionals.

I'm ready for springtime!

Happy New Year 2011

Here's my first post for 2011!  It's a Birthday Card  for my Step-Grandson, he's going to be 18!  How do those kids get so old so fast??

I used Marina Mist CS for the base, layering onto Crumb Cake CS.  The DSP I used is Blueberry Crisp.  The images were stamped onto Very Vanilla CS.  The Happy Birthday Stamp on front is from the Afterthoughts Stamp Set and the Monogram B is from Broadsheet Alphabet Set.  Inside the cake is from Fun & Fast Notes Stamp Set and the little saying under the cake comes from the Hostess Set Birthday Bakery.  I colored the images with water color pencils and used the blender pen.  I sponged the edges with Marina Mist.  Sure hope he likes it!  (It's up to Papa Bob to put something inside that really makes him smile!)
